An Atlas of Clinical Neurology

چکیده
ORTHOPAEDICS. By J. Crawford Adams, M.D., M.S., F.R.C.S. (Pp. 476; figs. 361. 40s.). Edinburgh & London: E. & S. Livingstone, 1967. THEi first edition of this book appeared in 1956, so that the appearance of this sixth edition means there has been a new edition every two years. Not only does this show very energetic re-writing by the author, but it points most effectively to the immense popularity of the book. This popularity is fully deserved, and should be increased by the latest edition. The author has produced a new edition which must be unique, in that it has fewer pages than the previous editions. This decrease is due to very careful and detailed revision of the original material and the up-to-date information has been incorporated in a compact fashion. The bibliography has been revised. This is an excellent book for its stated purpose of helping students, but it is very useful for practitioners and for those studying for higher qualifications. It could well be an even greater success than its forerunners, and it merits such a future. R.I.W.

Development of an Anaglyph Anatomical Atlas of Rabbit as a New Generation of Printable 3D Anatomical Atlases
Introduction: To improve anatomical atlases, we tried to create a printable 3D atlas of rabbit's anatomy based on the Anaglyph. Methods: In this study, twenty white rabbits euthanized and dissected. All 3D images were reconstructed by means of "stereo photo maker (SPM®)" software. Results: By this atlas, users can easily understand nomenclature, the topography and, certainly, the transpo...
متن کاملA case of Collet-Sicard syndrome associated with traumatic atlas fractures and congenital basilar invagination.
An 18 year old man with congenital basilar invagination developed multiple lower cranial nerve (CN) palsies including CN IX to XII after a traffic accident. Computed tomography of his skull base revealed a two part atlas Jefferson fracture. Normally, lower cranial nerves (CN IX-XII) pass through a space between the styloid process and the atlas transverse process. Atlas burst fractures rarely c...
متن کاملImmunological Basis of Neurological Diseases
Clinical neurology has been traditionally considered as an academic speciality in which the specialist regurgitates his/her knowledge of neurology without being able to do much for the patient. This attitude is no longer acceptable. Surge of information and discoveries in neurosciences within the last two decades translated into therapeutic interventions which is literally life saving in some o...
متن کاملGenerating the synthetic CT (sCT) and synthetic MR (sMR: sT1w/sT2w) images of the brain using atlas based method
Introduction: Radiation therapy planning (RTP) is one of the clinical applications in which both CT scan and MRI are used. MR and CT images are applied to determine the target volume and calculation of dose distribution, respectively. In addition, using two imaging modalities increases the department workload and cost. In this study, an algorithm was presented to create synthet...
متن کاملA cytology negative rare tumor with the presentation of pseudotumor cerebri clinical symptoms: diffuse leptomeningeal glioneuronal tumor
Diffuse leptomeningeal glioneuronal tumor is characterized by hydrocephalus, leptomeningeal involvement in the absence of a primary parenchymal mass, and negative cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) cytology. It is an extremely rare and difficult tumor to diagnose as no mass can be biopsied and it mimics infectious, rheumatologic, and inflammatory pathologies. An 11-year-old girl presented with complaint...
